HIDA scan showed an extremely slow and sluggish gall bladder prior to pregnancy. Polyp that has grown during the pregnancy isn’t helping & they can see from ultrasound that my gall bladder is being compressed and pinched by both of my baby’s feet. She has made it her trampoline. 🥲 & yes everyone, I am watching what I eat and trying to stay hydrated. I don’t wanna be taking ANY meds but I also don’t want to be putting myself at risk of preterm labor from all the stress throwing up/dehydration. I

Sometimes, the gallstones seen on imaging—or even a poorly functioning gallbladder on a HIDA scan (which, to be honest, I still have my reservations about considering an actual diagnosis) aren’t the cause of your pain. They can be incidental findings. What we’re seeing as well, believe it or not, is that those with mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) can react to the titanium surgical clip used to close off the cystic duct.
