There is an art to drying flowers. I’ve found myself drying thousands of flowers over the years now. Yes, you can dry zinnias. It takes practice, studying which type of zinnias dry well and working with your environmental conditions too. A dried flower is not meant to stay exactly the way it looks as a fresh flower (there are a few flower exceptions where they do!) Zinnias are one of those flowers that takes on an antique look when dried and I LOVE using them in fall decor (wreaths and pumpkins)

•Zinnia Seed Saving• I’ve shared a lot how I dry Zinnias for •decorative• purposes. When it comes to saving Zinnia seed, I wait till the flower heads are brown on the plant, snip off, let dry inside a few more days and I toss in a brown paper bag to save for the next season. I let the Zinnias go to seed in the fall- usually late August in preparation for a mid October frost. This is how I do it- I know others try and save seed when they zinnias are more green but I prefer when they are brown on

Save your zinnia seeds for next year - it’s easier than you think! 🌸 Once the blooms turn brown, snip them off and pop them into a paper bag to finish drying. You can separate the seeds later if you’d like, but I just save the whole bloom! Store them in a labeled envelope or bag in a cool, dry spot for winter. 🌼 #FromSeedToSpoon #ZinniaSeeds #Zinnias #SeedSaving #GardenTips #GardeningMadeEasy #FlowerGarden #FallGardening #seedtospoon #gardening #flower #flowers #easytogrowflowers #garden #gard
