United Arab Emirates Astronaut Candidate Training | NASA's Johnson Space Center FriendsofNASA.org: In this video, United Arab Emirates (UAE) astronaut candidates Nora AlMatrooshi and Mohammad AlMulla of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) work to complete several training exercises. This includes wilderness survival training in Fort Novosel (formerly known as Fort Rucker) in Alabama, and suiting up at the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas

Pools, astronauts, and neutron stars? It’s not a joke! As part of tomorrow’s scheduled spacewalk, NASA Astronauts Nick Hague is slated to install patches to our NICER (Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer) X-ray telescope. To prepare for this activity, Hague and other astronauts rehearsed the NICER patch procedures in the NBL (Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory), a 6.2-million-gallon indoor pool at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, in 2024.
