A suspected improvised explosive device (IED) was found on the Srinagar–Baramulla National Highway at Tapper Pattan in north Kashmir, triggering a swift response from security forces. The device was detected during a routine patrol, following which a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot to defuse it. Security forces on Thursday evening detected an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in sadpora area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said. They said that a major tragedy was averted by the timely detection of the IED by a road opening party of the police and Army's 32 RR in area Rafiabad on Baramulla-Handwara road.
