IBM has announced plans to invest $150 billion in the United States over the next five years to boost the economy and cement its position as a global technological leader. More than $30 billion will be allocated towards research and development, focusing on mainframes and quantum computing.

The investment plans include $30 billion for domestic mainframe and quantum computing development, the company said Monday.
