LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada judge on Tuesday postponed the murder trial of the only suspect ever charged in the 1996 killing of rap icon Tupac Shakur for nearly a year, saying she had little choice given new developments presented by his defense attorneys and the need to ensure a fair trial.

Attorneys for Duane “Keffe D” Davis filed a motion Friday in a Nevada court, stating that Davis’ defense has identified witnesses who can testify that he was not present at the shooting, despite his alleged self-implication in his memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” KSNV reported.

Duane “Keefe D” Davis’ long-awaited murder trial for his alleged role in the 1996 shooting death of rapper Tupac Shakur has been postponed until 2026. Originally scheduled for March 2025, the delay came after Davis’ attorney filed a motion on Feb. 14, requesting more time to prepare.
