The national average for diesel fuel prices dropped by 8 cents to $3.553 per gallon, 99 cents cheaper compared to the average price at this time last year.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration in its latest Short Term Energy Outlook estimated that national gasoline prices will average $3.20 a gallon in 2025, down from $3.30 this year and $3.50 in 2023.

In Michigan, gas prices hit an average high of $5.22 a gallon mid-2022, but come down significantly in recent months.

Fuel prices, which had soared after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, have dropped to their lowest level since February.
