A multiday siege of severe weather will first strike the Great Lakes and Midwest through the end of this week before shifting to the Great Plains over the weekend and into early next week.Tornadoes – some possibly strong – damaging hail and destructive straight-line winds are all potential threats.

There’s been an eerie lull in extreme weather across the U.S. recently, but it is slowly changing, as the FOX Forecast Center monitors severe storms across the Plains during what is expected to be a seven-day stretch of severe weather.

A more active severe weather pattern is getting underway in the Midwest and Plains that could produce large hail, wind damage and a tornado threat into early next week.
