Elon Musk apologised to Donald Trump after a phone call with JD Vance, the US vice-president, it has emerged. Mr Musk, the richest man in the world, has now spoken privately to Mr Trump for the first time since their public clash, The New York Times reported.

The duo caught up from their last conversation seven months ago in October, when Vance was still a U.S. Senator from Ohio

JD Vance and Susie Wiles, arguably the closest people to Trump in the White House, staged an intervention between the president and Elon Musk.
