But the majority of the episode actually takes place ten years prior to The Penguin's present-day events, instead focusing on a younger Sofia as she's framed for murder by her father, crime lord Carmine Falcone (played by John Turturro in The Batman and now played by Mark Strong in flashbacks).

The Penguin gave a small role to an obscure Batman villain from the pages of DC Comics, the crazed jewel thief known as Magpie.

Batman isn't just the most successful and iconic hero in DC Comics, he also has an equally famous set of villains. Having been faced with some of the same foes for eight decades, the Caped Crusader has been forced to form temporary alliances with these antagonists for the greater good.
