Day two at the track and field state championships featured a bevy of local athletes taking home additional hardware. Ashwaubenon’s Thea Kral defended her shot put title, making it five total state championships for the Wisconsin commit.

The two-day 2025 OHSAA track and field championships will be held Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at Ohio State University in Columbus. Ambrosio ran a 9:01.78 at the state tournament that year, which held up as a school record and top 10 time in the state ever, until Friedrich displaced him Saturday. Friedrich was the lone sub nine-minute runner in the field, finishing the race in 8:57.74. That’s the fifth fastest time the state has ever seen regardless of division.
