Sriram Krishnan has become a MAGA lightning rod since President-elect Trump named him as a senior advisor on artificial intelligence, due to both anti-Indian racism and Krishnan's pro-immigration views.

Recently, the Indian-American Congressman Ro Khanna criticised those targeting Indian-born Krishnan, over his Indian origin.

MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, another name for Trump followers, have also criticised Krishnan’s nomination, with activist Laura Loomer accusing him of betraying the “America First” agenda.

Unlike the broader, disorganized alt-right, Groypers are strategic. They target mainstream conservatives, accusing them of being too moderate, while positioning themselves as the true guardians of “America First” values.
