Seamer Mohammed Shami will not play in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy test series against Australia while spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been sidelined with a groin injury as the country's cricket board (BCCI) announced an 18-member squad on Friday.

India's cricket team will face Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series without key player Mohammed Shami due to an ankle injury. Fresh faces like Nitish Kumar Reddy have been introduced, while Kuldeep Yadav is set for rehab.

India have named their squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25. Axar Patel has been dropped from the squad while Kuldeep Yadav wasn't available for selection. Harshit Rana has been handed his maiden Test call-up along with Nitish Kumar Reddy.

The BCCI announced an 18-member squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, starting November 22. Notable omissions include Mohammed Shami, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav. The left-arm wrist-spinner had featured recently in the first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru but will not be featuring in Australia.
