With the advent of car insurance scams, dash cams have become a popular buy. In New York, a dash cam owner learns just how important a purchase it was when a would-be insurance fraudster attempts to cause a car crash.

A viral dashcam video shows a car on the Belt Parkway in Queens intentionally reversing into an SUV an what appears to be an insurance scam.
