First discovered: 11:49 p.m. Aug. 11 Initial location: Los Angeles County, Calif. A new wildfire was reported today at 11:49 p.m. in Los Angeles County, California. Rock Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, there is no data on the containment status of the fire and the cause has yet to be determined.
The Canyon Fire in Southern California has spread to more than 5,300 acres and was 25% contained, a day after igniting outside of Piru, CA.
A brush fire north of Los Angeles is spreading quickly and forcing evacuations in the area. The Canyon Fire ignited Thursday at around 1:30 p.m.
