The Boston Bruins have little time to dwell on negatives. A night after the Bruins' season of ups and downs continued with a 5-1 road loss to the New Jersey Devils, Boston returns to home ice for a Thursday night matchup against the Atlantic Division rival Ottawa Senators.

The Bruins may not be the most talented bunch and the direction of the organization is still very much up in the air. But whether the “blow-it-up” portion of the fan base likes it or not, the players are not abut to lay own on the season.

Boston Bruins bounced back in a big way against the Ottawa Senators on Jan. 23. The Bruins defeated their division rival by a 2-0 final score and have jumped up from sixth place to third place in the Atlantic Division.

As if things couldn’t get more troublesome for the Bruins, the player who is chiefly responsible for the earning points in four of their last five games is on the shelf. Jeremy Swayman, whom B’s coach Joe Sacco pulled after two periods on Wednesday in New Jersey partly because he was “dealing with something minor”,

The Boston Bruins will be without goaltender Jeremy Swayman on day-to-day basis due to an upper-body ailment, head coach Joe Sacco confirmed Thursday to Andrew Fantucchio of Boston Hockey Now.
