A blizzard warning is in effect this morning for parts of the Cascades in Washington. When will Puget Sound/Seattle get snow?
The National Weather Service has issued multiple blizzard warnings for Washington’s mountain regions, warning of heavy snow and strong winds.
At 11:52 a.m. on Wednesday, the NWS Seattle WA issued an updated blizzard warning in effect until noon. The warning is for Cascades of Whatcom and Skagit counties, Cascades of Snohomish and Northern King counties,
The National Weather Service’s (NWS) winter storm warning was upgraded to a blizzard warning. One to two feet of snow is expected at or above 2,000 feet. According to KIRO 7 meteorlogist Nick Allard, 10 to 20 inches of snow are possible, with windy weather and poor visibility.

The warning was in place for Olympics. "The heavy snowfall and gusty winds will continue to decrease throughout the day," states the NWS Seattle WA. The warning is in effect until noon.
The NWS has issued a blizzard warning for northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota, including the metro areas of Fargo -Moorhead and Grand Forks. That's where 1-4 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 70 mph could cause havoc.
Northern North Dakota, including the Minot area, should prepare for what could become the season’s first blizzard, starting tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 17, according to the National Weather Service. NWS meteorologist Jason Anglin said the Minot area could have a period of rain showers and mild temperatures in the 40s Wednesday afternoon,
Temperatures across the Two Virginias are coming in above freezing in most places, but a few localities are starting out in the 20s. Today is a First Alert Weather Day due to the potential for more snow, but most notably blizzard conditions for the higher terrain. Slick roads will be possible as we see snow accumulate tonight.
