Amazon will shutter its Appstore for the Android operating system, as well as its Coins program this week, the company said.

Amazon will shut down its Android device app store in August 2025. Users will no longer be able to download or use apps from the Appstore on Android after the deadline.

Amazon first launched the Appstore in March, 2011 as an app that could be installed on Android phones and tablets. The first Amazon Fire-branded tablet didn’t launch until half a year later.
