The Indiana Fever made their first roster cuts of training camp Monday. Rookie Bree Hall and Jillian Alleyne were waived by the team as it narrows down its Opening Day roster. WNBA teams can carry 12 players, but because of salary cap limitations, the Fever will likely have only 11 players on its roster to start the season.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever waived two of its players. In an announcement made on Monday, May 5, the team said it has waived forward Jillian Alleyne and guard Bree Hall. The team thanked both of the players on social media.

One of the toughest aspects of WNBA training camps and preseason is finalizing the roster. Unlike the NBA, where teams can carry up to 15 players, the WNBA limits rosters to just 12. This means teams often enter training camp with more than 12 players and must make tough cuts over a short two-week period to reach the league's roster limit.
