Six-times MotoGP champion Marc Marquez logged his factory Ducati debut with pole position at the season-opening Thailand Grand Prix, edging out his younger brother Alex Marquez of Gresini at the Buriram International Circuit on Saturday.

Six-time world champion Marc Marquez grabbed pole position ahead of brother Alex for Sunday's season-opening MotoGP race at Buriram in Thailand. The 32-year-old Marquez went quickest in opening practice on Friday before being pipped by brother Alex in the afternoon session.

Reigning MotoGP champion Jorge Martin must have hand surgery for the second time in less than a month. The 27-year-old Spaniard suffered a broken right hand in a crash on day one of pre-season testing in Malaysia earlier this month.
