Metro Nashville Police are working to identify a man whose body was pulled from the Cumberland River over the weekend. A father and son fishing in the Whites Creek area Sunday discovered the body and called 911, police said in a statement.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department released the identity of the man’s body that was pulled out of the Cumberland River on Sunday, October 6. The body was of 36-year-old Christopher Kelley, who MNPD said was reported missing by his family in Mt. Juliet on October 1.

The body of an unidentified Black male, 30-40, was found in the Cumberland River in Nashville, with no obvious trauma. Police are investigating.

A father and son who were fishing along the Cumberland River discovered a body this past weekend, Metro Police report.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, a father and son who were out fishing in a boat discovered the body in the Whites Creek area of the river off County Hospital Road and called 911.
