The Colorado Avalanche will be without their backup goaltender following a game against the Buffalo Sabres. Veteran goalie Scott Wedgewood left the game following a collision on the ice and Mackenzie Blackwood came on in relief.

The Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood was injured in play while the Sabres continued on to put the puck inside the net as he rolled on his back in pain. The goal was counted by the officials and a melee ensued after that.

The lack of a whistle by officials when goaltender Scott Wedgewood was down in the net and hurt after a Buffalo player was pushed into him in the third period. Bednar felt the play should've been stopped out of player safety.

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood left Thursday night's game against Buffalo with an apparent right-leg injury. Wedgewood was hurt just over a minute into the third period when Sabres forward Zach Benson was battling with Avalanche center Parker Kelly near the Colorado goal.
