Stellantis is fixing its slowing U.S. sales at the right pace after fumbling a marketing plan earlier this year, CEO Carlos Tavares told reporters.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares sought to defend the group’s turnaround strategies on Monday, the day after informing investors that it has missed its target and rattled markets. The September 30th announcement came as a surprise to some stakeholders who have been used to the automaker’s high margins from US pickup truck and Jeep sales and saw stock of Stellantis drop almost 45 per cent this year.
