The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado in northwest Joplin early Friday morning.

Right now, families in the northwest part of the city are cleaning up after severe storms left a trail of damage and knocked out power to thousands across the Four States.

An EF-1 tornado with estimated peak winds of 95 mph touched down in Jasper County on Friday, causing minor damage to homes and trees, but thankfully no injuries or fatalities were reported.
