Cyclone Dana is likely to make landfall between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra Port in Odisha early Friday with wind speeds of up to 120 kilometres per hour (kmph), IMD said. Track all updates here.

Cyclone Dana which formed in the Bay of Bengal is intensifying and moving north-northwestwards and is likely to cross Bengal and Odisha in the early hours of Friday.

Ahead of the landfall of the severe cyclonic storm Dana, Odisha and West Bengal have been put on high alert. In Odisha, schools have been closed in 14 districts and state civil services prelims exam 2024 has been postponed.

According to the weather department, Cyclone Dana will bring heavy rains to the southern part of West Bengal and coastal Odisha.

IMD has issued Orange alert and warning for 5 districts of Odisha Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Jajpur districts over the next three hours.
