An explosion has been captured at SpaceX ’s Starbase facility in Texas, where Elon Musk’s company is preparing to launch its Starship craft in a critical test of the world’s largest rocket. SpaceX was reportedly performing a deluge test, which involves shooting water at the base of the rocket to counter the massive flames during launch.
SpaceX is aiming to launch Starship at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time on Friday from its Starbase site in southern Texas, outside Brownsville. If weather or technical problems cause a delay, the countdown may be extended until 8 p.m. Forecasts called for an 85 percent chance of favorable conditions, SpaceX said.
