The Rensselaer Model Railroad Society’s famed 4,000-square-foot model train layout was broken up again, this time for good.

Thousands of model train enthusiasts once again made the pilgrimage to West Springfield for the “Railroad Hobby Show” put on by the Amherst Railway Society.

Dennis Lakomy has been collecting and running model trains since his dad gave him his first model train set in 1962. They are on display in his home near Port Huron and include an operating layout.
