The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is nearing the end of its support lifecycle. Microsoft is releasing a final Android 12 update for the device, which marks the end of software updates for the dual-screen smartphone.

Three years after launching the device with a premium price tag of $1,499, Microsoft has released what appears to be the last ever security update for the device: as with the original Duo last year, Microsoft is ending all support and software updates three years from the device's launch. For the Duo 2, all support will end on 21 October 2024.

As highlighted by WindowsCentral, after just one OS update, the Surface Duo 2 is soon losing software support. Microsoft's surface lifecycle page suggests that the last planned security update for the Surface Duo 2 is October 21, 2024, with a 54MB security update rolling out now.
