Google has priced the Pixel 4A at just $349, which is $50 less than the iPhone SE. Even at that aggressively low cost, the phone delivers a best-in-class camera for photos.

Google provided us with an early review unit of the Pixel 4a 5G. We’ve been using it for a little under a week on Verizon’s network (this is the Sub-6 model).

Google’s software still wins. There’s nothing new or unique about the software on the Pixel 4a and that’s perfectly fine. You get Android 10 out of the box with Google’s Pixel Experience.

Our review unit shipped with Android 10, but Google just announced the official release of Android 11. While the Pixel 4a ran great with Android 10, Android 11 adds just that much more.

Power Winner: Pixel 4A. On average, after a day of heavy use, the Pixel 4A had plenty of battery left by the evening. The iPhone SE’s battery was usually almost empty by supper time.

Google downgraded the 4a to a 60Hz OLED screen. It's more than adequate (Apple still hasn't made a phone with a higher refresh rate than 60Hz), but it would've been nice to have a 90Hz option.
