Dallas used a 42-point second-quarter lead to erase a 17-point deficit en route to a 131-121 victory over Denver.

Thompson did show signs of life in Saturday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, coming off the bench to knock down six 3-pointers on 10 attempts. He finished with 23 points, three rebounds and one assist, but the Mavericks will need that level of production on a more consistent basis if they hope to turn their season around.

Luka Dončić (38 points, 15-26 FG) finishes with a minus-25 net rating, blemishing his score line with nine turnovers versus just five assists. Austin Reaves posted a modest 16 points (6-12 FG) — snapping his streak of three consecutive 30-point games. He had five turnovers versus just three assists.

In a further blow to their already fragile rotation, the Mavericks announced that Klay Thompson would be unavailable for the game Saturday against the Clippers as he continues to manage a left knee injury. However, a short time later, the injury report was updated to say that Thompson is available to play.

This is the matchup everyone had been anticipating since February 2, 2025. Anthony Davis is finally healthy enough to make his return, and he’s doing so against the team that didn’t go all-in on him.
