Emergency Preparedness Minister Harjit Sajjan said he approved a request for the Canadian military resources, as the “City of Iqaluit is not equipped to house these passengers".

Over 200 passengers from Air India’s Delhi-Chicago flight, diverted to Iqaluit due to a threat message, have been flown to Chicago by the Royal Canadian Air Force. The original aircraft remains in Iqaluit due to crew duty limitations and will be flown later with the luggage.
