Gusty winds combined with low humidity means an increase in fire danger so L.A.’s Red Flag Parking restrictions are in effect today beginning at 8 a.m. If you park in the hilly or mountainous areas of the city, make sure to check the parking signs.

"Red flag Warnings span from Kansas to Minnesota and reiterate the potential for fires to spread rapidly," the NWS said.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Bay Area as conditions have led to an increased risk of fire.
