The Ohio State Highway Patrol is taking part in National School Bus Safety Week by raising awareness and focusing their efforts on the road. This week puts the emphasis on safety for school buses and the young students they are transporting.

In Ohio the bus driver shortage is continuing in part because public schools must transport non-public school students.

If you get caught passing a stopped school bus illegally, here are some of the penalties you may face: Minimum fine of $265, if you pass on the side where children enter and exit, you will receive a minimum fine of $465.
