Southern California is bracing for heavy rain, gusty winds and cooler temperatures as a Pacific storm, fed by an atmospheric river, moves inland through the region.

The storm is expected to move quickly through Northern California by Thursday morning, but forecasters are concerned that it will stall in the southern part of the state.

Highs along the coast and in valley areas are expected to drop 5–10 degrees below normal by Friday, with desert highs dipping slightly below average.
