The U.S. train operator Watco is extending its lease with the Canal District in Sault Ste. Marie after nearly moving depot operations to the rail yard by Algoma Steel for the upcoming season.

The Agawa Canyon tour train, the first-ever tour train provided by Watco-owned Agawa Canyon Railroad (ACR), carried its first passengers Aug. 1 from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, to Agawa Canyon Park.
