Early in the Bruins’ 6-4 loss to open the season on Tuesday, Trent Frederic said Matthew Tkachuck invited him to fight. The Bruins forward was eager to engage but said the Panthers pest didn’t follow through. Instead, Frederic was whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct.

During the matchup, Trent Frederic received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after dropping the gloves to prepare to fight Florida Panthers Matthew Tkachuk. Tkachuk, on the other hand, did not do the same, so Frederic received a penalty.

While fans and players in Florida were having, one specific Bruin did not enjoy what had been done to him. After the 6-4 loss to the Panthers, forward Trent Frederic revealed that Matthew Tkachuk asked him to go and then wouldn’t drop the gloves, perhaps trying to sucker Frederic into a penalty.
