A new documentary about the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel by Hamas has been booted from the Toronto International Film Festival — because organizers insist the filmmakers need the rights from the terrorist group to use their horrific footage of the massacre.

The Ultimate Rescue is a documentary by the Canadian filmmaker and follows retired Israeli Gen. Noam Tibon as he attempts to rescue his son, journalist Amir Tibon, and his family during the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas‑led attack on Kibbutz Nahal Oz in southern Israel.

"We call on TIFF to reverse its decision and stand for the principles it claims to uphold," the Creative Community for Peace says.
