The Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Yemen on Tuesday claimed to have attacked the international airport in Tel Aviv as well as targets in Jerusalem. Houthi military spokesman Yehya Saree said in a televised statement that Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport and an electricity plant in the Jerusalem area had been attacked with ballistic missiles.

The Israeli military said several people were lightly injured after its air defenses failed to intercept the projectile, which struck a playground in the city.

Houthi Missile Explosion in Tel Aviv Public Park In a shocking incident overnight, a missile launched by Yemen’s Houthi group exploded in a public park in south Tel Aviv, leaving chaos and damage in its wake.

No children were present in the building. The rocket was fired as Israeli fighter jets were on their way to Yemen to target Houthi positions there.

The Houthis claimed responsibility for the strike in the Jaffa area and celebrated the Israel Defense Forces’ failed attempt to intercept the missile.

The Houthi rebels announced that they had attacked Israel's Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and U.S. warship in the Red Sea in three different attacks. The rebels said that they first targeted the Ben Gurion airport with Palestine 2 ballistic missile and then a power station near Jerusalem with Zulfiqar ballistic missile.
