Zindzhi gives birth to Masai giraffe calf at Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend.
It's estimated there are around 35,000 Masai giraffes left worldwide. With the calf's birth, six now live in South Bend.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Potawatomi Zoo is celebrating the birth of a baby giraffe! The zoo says mother Zindzhi gave birth to a female Masai giraffe calf back on Oct. 13. Zoo officials say the calf may be visible to the public, weather permitting. The calf’s outdoor access may be limited to sunny and 60 degrees.
