An investigation is underway after police say a Florida Highway Patrol trooper shot and killed a suspect at a hospital in Ocala early Friday morning.

“A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was involved in a physical altercation with a suspect in custody, which resulted in FHP using deadly force,” Ocala police posted on Facebook. One person was killed in the incident, police said. No law enforcement officers or hospital staff members were injured.
