The NHL and NHL Players’ Association have ratified their extension of the collective bargaining agreement, securing labor peace in the sport through 2030. The league and union announced in a joint news release Tuesday that the deal had been approved. It took a vote of the Board of Governors and the full NHLPA membership.

NEW YORK/TORONTO -- The National Hockey League Players’ Association’s full membership and the National Hockey League’s Board of Governors today ratified a four-year Collective Bargaining Agreement, more than a year before the expiration of the current contract. The new agreement runs through the 2029-30 season.

More than a year before the expiry of its current deal, a new collective bargaining agreement between the NHL and the NHLPA was officially ratified on Tuesday.
