The man accused of setting fire to a woman who was asleep on a New York City subway has been indicted on charges of murder in the first and second degree and arson, according to Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

New York City police are working to identify the woman who died after being intentionally set on fire inside a stationary subway train.

Police said an unknown male had approached the woman, set her on fire, and then left the subway car around 7:30 a.m.
