ABS-CBN on MSNRisk highlighted as Chinese hackers hit Microsoft
Software giant Microsoft is at the center of cybersecurity storm after China-linked hackers exploited flaws in SharePoint servers to target hundreds of organizations.
A series of cyberattacks targeting Microsoft collaboration software, specifically SharePoint, have been linked to Chinese hackers and threat actors.
One of the hacked organizations reportedly includes the U.S. agency responsible for maintaining the country's stockpile of nuclear weapons. China-backed hackers have been observed carrying out the hacks targeting SharePoint servers.
The Chinese government has warned against using cyber security issues to defame the country, following the hacker attacks on Microsoft software. Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said in Beijing on Wednesday that he was not aware of the exact circumstances of the attacks.
Several entities in South Africa have been compromised by hackers who exploited a security vulnerability in Microsoft's (MSFT) SharePoint servers, according to Eye Security.
