Mary Ann Maslog, a suspect in the 1998 textbook scam, may be instrumental in Alice Guo’s recent departure from the Philippines, according to Senate President Pro

The woman, whom the National Bureau of Investigation said was the same person accused in connection with a P24-million textbook procurement scam in 1998, on Tuesday told a Senate inquiry how police asked her help to make Alice Guo turn herself in.

"I talked to Mayor Calugay if there is a way for him to contact Miss Alice," she told the Senate panel led by Sen. Risa Hontiveros.
