Prime Minister Keir Starmer said his government was “taking back control of our borders,” weeks after a right-wing populist party, Reform U.K., made gains in municipal elections.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer promised on Monday to cut net migration to Britain significantly over the next four years, saying the country risked becoming "an island of strangers" without tougher rules on immigration.

Keir Starmer has unveiled a series of reforms today which he claims will significantly bring down immigration. It comes after net migration levels peaked at 906,000 under the Tories, pushing the issue up the political agenda once more.
