The man who fell 20 feet onto the field at a recent Pittsburgh Pirates game is "alert and awake" after being hurriedly carted off the field.

Kavan Markwood, the 20-year-old Pittsburgh Pirates fan who fell off a 21-foot wall Wednesday at PNC Park, is awake and making progress as of Saturday, according to his family.

Kavan Markwood "is very strong but he is also battling for his young life," according to a GoFundMe to help with medical bills for the 20-year-old, who has lost both of his parents.
