Like a Dragon is going global. The video game series, previously known as Yakuza in the West, has only grown in popularity since 2015's Yakuza 0, encompassing all manner of turn-based RPGs, secret agent brawlers, and pirate-themed adventures. Now, it's about to be plonked in front of millions of subscribers on Prime Video.

Yakuza are mixed to negative, with a couple of positive ones. According to critics, the show fails to balance the melodrama with moments of comedy. The series was always going to be difficult to adapt because of how unique its presentation is.

Yakuza Like A Dragon is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video and is based on the popular Yakuza series by Sega. But where is the series set and is it a real place in Japan?

Like a Dragon: Yakuza episode 1 is releasing on Prime Video on October 24 in the US and UK and October 25 in Japan. While the release times aren't yet public, we would suspect that means the show's opening episodes (more than one will be made available, more on that below) will be streaming from midnight JST (Japan Standard Time).

Yakuza, and while it might be a show about yakuza with an adapted storyline giving a different yet equally complicated plot, we're not sure who this is for.
