Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager was put on the injured list again because of a hamstring strain her suffered on May 11.
Seager returned from a first stint on the IL on May 3 after the minimum 10 days and without a rehab assignment. Over the next 10 days, he played in just five of the Rangers’ nine games. He went 8 for 23 (.348) with two homers, but said he was feeling increasing soreness on every swing by the weekend.
Several current Rockies players, including two-time Gold Glove center fielder Brenton Doyle, Gold Glove shortstop Ezequiel Tovar, and reserve outfielder Sean Bouchard, played under Schaeffer at Triple-A Albuquerque. Schaeffer received glowing reviews.
Corey Seager has been placed on the 10-day injured list again by the Texas Rangers. The two-time World Series MVP shortstop had already missed four of their previous five games because of right hamstring soreness before the move Tuesday.
