Japan's Mao Saigo took advantage of a last-hole error from Ariya Jutanugarn to win her first major title at The Chevron Championship. Saigo birdied the 18th for the second time in quick succession to win a five-person play-off, after Jutanugarn had opened the door with a bogey on the same hole.

Mao Saigo of Japan won the Chevron Championship on Sunday for her first major title, making a 3-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a five-way playoff. Saigo, 23, birdied the par-5 18th in regulation for a 2-under 74,

In the end, Mao Saigo secured the first LPGA victory of her career with a birdie putt from three feet away on the playoff hole. Hyo Joo Kim, Ruoning Yin, Ariya Jutanugarn and Lindy Duncan were the other four golfers that advanced to the playoff but couldn't beat out Saigo.
