Arvind Kejriwal's AAP failed to reach a pre-poll alliance in Haryana with the Congress due to disagreement over the number of seats to be contested by it. It independently contested 89 of the total 90 seats in the state after its demand for nine seats was turned down by the Congress.

The AAP contested 88 of the 90 seats in Haryana, deciding to go it alone after alliance talks with the Congress fell through. AAP did not win any seats. The BJP looks set to win 50 while the Congress is at 34.

Referring to the outcome of the recently concluded Assembly polls, the Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday advised them to avoid overconfidence, and added that no election is easy.

Addressing a gathering of the AAP municipal councillors, Kejriwal expressed confidence that his party would win the upcoming elections due in February if they maintained cleanliness in their respective wards.
